The nursing staff at NHC Healthcare, Maryland Heights is very attentive to my dad's needs. He's not an easy patient but they are very helpful, patient, and kind to him. They're very prompt with their care, which I appreciate a lot. They seem to pay shut attention to differences in his demeanor too. They called 911 as soon as they saw that he was not interim correctly, which led to him being admitted to the hospital. If they hadn't been paying then much attention to particular, it could have been a real tragedy. The quality of care is but very good in that location. His room is very clean and they brand the necessary rubber precautions. My dad has a roommate and there'due south a lot of people in that location with roommates. They try to pair the people that have mutual issues that would exist good together in a room. It might not be similar the fancy places that have all the fine dining and all the ice cream confined and happy hours, but information technology'southward got a homey feel to it. Everybody seems to exist engaged in making sure that people seem somewhat happy there. They try to become the residents engaged in things. They also take a little undiscriminating with a little equus caballus, some chickens that run right up to you lot, and information technology'southward simply really neat. They have birds inside for the residents to kind of look at likewise so it's got every aspect of unlike things for people to see and would be interested in.

My mother is in NHC Healthcare Maryland Heights. It'southward a skilled nursing facility and she'south in the retention care unit. Nosotros've been impressed with the staff, their responsiveness and they contact us. They as well have a physician on staff there. We also like the fact that they separate their retention care into two different units. The people that are very far along are carve up from the others that are more than mobile and more functional. They accept their retentivity intendance patients and they separate them fifty-fifty more. They seem to take a lot of activities. The 1 fourth dimension I was there, they were having Christmas in July, yesterday, they had their 50th anniversary celebration and another time I was in that location, they had a person playing the piano and singing. They have a fair amount of activities for them. I haven't tried the food, but she likes it. They say she's eating well and the times that I've been there when she was eating, she finished most of her nutrient. She is a Medicaid case, so they basically take all her money that she makes from Social Security every month and exit her with $fifty.

We chose NHC Healthcare Maryland Heights for my mother because the reviews were very overnice. They either had really proficient or really bad ratings, and it seemed similar most of the bad ones are just people that were kind of upset. I went in there concluding Friday evening, and they were having a happy 60 minutes. They had a little five-piece old human band playing, and my mom was sitting there waving her hand, just having a good fourth dimension. The staff has been actually good. Information technology seems equally the groups of people are not separated. They were hanging out together and doing things together. Yous don't meet everyone sitting by themselves. The staff seems to exist pretty skilful, and I'one thousand pretty happy with the decision. The staff seems pretty knowledgeable. She has no trouble eating, and she's looking healthy. They're in the eye of construction correct now, so at that place's a sure function is that'south kind of out of touch a little scrap considering of that. The balance of the place seems clean, and up to par.

I am/was a resident of this facility
Administered Incorrect meds causing low glucose levels with staff running into my room with glasses of orange juice. My roommate threatened to telephone call the police because staff would not respond her call button for an hour and a half !! She had only been admitted and called family unit to take her home. 2 medications were not given to me and was told no medico on duty all weekend and I would have to exercise without. Violation of HIPPA act with "Alma" asking personal medical questions to my roommate in my presence. Checked my cocky out after 2 days and Alma was very nasty. Worst nursing domicile I have ever seen and was my first time equally a patient in a nursing facility.

Except for Admissions, my sisters short stay was at the hands of Incompetent and rude individuals on staff. Ane of the nurses was disrespectful along with some of the CNA's. My sis was admitted mid afternoon on a Friday. She was greeted by a very dainty In Accept nurse. My sister told her all of the meds she was currently taking so that other nurses would exist aware of meds and the times to dispense them. I personally spoke to both nurse supervisors about the concerns my sister had expressed to me. They bodacious me that my sister was doing fine but could not be given one of the meds she needed considering it was a narcotic. The weekend doctor on call will not prescribe information technology and she'd accept to wait until Monday when the other physician returned.. My sister is a diabetic and she almost went into insulin shock because they did not give her the insulin In time. The staff ran and got orange juice. Her glucose levels were not monitored closely at all! And they plummeted. Likewise my sister developed a yeast infection and she asked the nursec for medicine to control it. The response was: "information technology'south non on the doctor's orders!" . Of course, she suffered needlessly. The CNA'south on the nighttime shift were very loud and yelling in the hallways at nighttime. My sis heard ane of the CNAS tell HER roommate "who do you think you are wanting to call the cops?" This poor woman was crying out for pain due to cancer for meds and was ignored. It only took one phone call to me from my sister on Sunday to become her out of this dreadful facility.Nosotros were informed at Discharge that my sister was leaving confronting doctor's orders!! What doctor????There is more but for a twenty-four hours and a half, information technology was a very very bad experience!! We can't imagine how this facility Got a 4-5 star rating.

My mother-in-law stayed at NHC Healthcare, Maryland Heights. The intendance was OK. She was at that place both for physical and occupational therapy. Her first room was fine because she had a roommate that she could talk to, but the 2nd time was horrible considering information technology was somebody on a ventilator. The entrance had an open area where they had birds and a fish tank for people to sit around. She liked the food there.

I went to NHC for my recovery after having my left hip replaced, I picked NHC because of the 4 star rating, Can't IMAGINE HOW they got four stars. I arrived the night earlier Thanksgiving, I know this is NOT a good time to make it or approximate, simply information technology was my circumstance. All rooms are shared, sometimes as many as three to a room with a shared bathroom, so you are sharing your bathroom with perchance 5 other people. A perfect identify to get an infection. My room was cleaned daily, but I never saw the bath cleaned. At i indicate, in one of the neighboring rooms, someone had diarrhea & a bad coughing. I went to use the bathroom & had to clean it myself while the aid stood and watched. I was a fall run a risk and on my first night, I put on my light for help to the toilet. when I told her I needed help getting upwardly, I got a disgusted look & was handed the bed remote. I explained that was not what I needed help with and she started chastising me. I was kept 7 MISERABLE days and signed myself out. I would rather be at domicile with NO help than at that place in the filthy, & rude conditions I endured. Besides the physical therapy there was a JOKE!! They kept trying to make me practice things my doctor had specifically told me Not to exercise. When I told them this, they said "information technology's okay, try". The therapy they did accept me practise was much less than I was taught with my other hip. I did more on my own in my room than they had me practice! At that place where less than a handful of wonderful workers, Mary, Morgan, EJ, & Dorothy . They made seven LONG days bearable. Direction were VERY prissy and accommodating, but unfortunately, were not in that location in the overnight hours with the rudest of people, and they don't wear proper name tags at night so you won't know who to written report. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone & have compassion for anyone forced to exist there! It was truly a hellhole & I was lucky to escape with no infection!

Great environment, Ambassador is very active and was helping feed residents breakfast in the morning time. The food came out fast and was hot which is always a plus ! The daily activities were fun and kept you busy throughout the solar day, and most important the workers truly do care about the residents. 5/5 review

Approximately one 1/two weeks ago my grandpa was placed in this item nursing facility for long term care. Going in he was looking great, gaining weight, getting stronger, eating, etc. Within this curt period he stopped eating, lost 10 lbs, and go lethargic to the point of only responding to painful stimuli. After probing the staff I as well discovered that he had not urinated for 2-3 days. Our family demanded an ambulance. During the whole procedure the staff had no sense of urgency. He ended upwardly in the infirmary in the footstep downwards unit of measurement. He had astringent pneumonia, dehydration, and nonetheless no response except painful stimuli.

Both my grandpa and grandmother were resident at NHC 3 years apart. The intendance that they received here was more than we could always imagine. The staff is caring and compassionate. They always strived to fulfill all of our requests and they went above and beyond to make both of my grandparents and family happy. The emotional support we received during both of their passings was tremendous and more than we could every expect. The facility is clean and very homely. The staff is friendly and helpful. I volition always recommend this facility to anyone that is in need of somewhere for a loved one.

My mother and brother where both residents. Staff was friendly and took time to listen to our concerns .The administrator is a wonderful lady with a warm heart. My family was treated with respect and dignity. Any issues that arose throughout their stay I felt the staff communicated well with the family and our physician. NHC helped our female parent return to her previous living situation at abode. Nosotros are so thankful for the nurses and cna's who cared for our family.

My grandmother recently moved there, and within a month we moved her out. The staff members are very poor communicators regarding the wellness and progress of their patients. The nursing staff was terrible and the standard of care was beneath average at all-time. The average response fourth dimension to the "call low-cal" was around 25 minutes. None of the CNAs or techs were very personable or showed any compassion. My grandmother was non handled or moved with any care or caution. Anytime our family'southward concerns were brought to an administrator, he or she never took the time to solve the problems. This company nickle and dimes you lot for everything and doesn't use whatsoever supplies provided by the family for the resident/patient. I would never recommend this company, particularly this location for your loved ones.

My Dad savage and broke his hip on 9/19/13. We admitted him into NHC of Maryland Heights for rehab on 9/24/13. He went dorsum to the hospital on 10/4/13 with some bug including dehydration. I don't believe they were at all monitoring his h2o intake. On ten/13/13 he went back to NHC and was put on hospice. Betwixt x/25/13 in the afternoon and x/26/13 in the morning time somebody at the facility shaved off his mustache which he had for at to the lowest degree thirty years. He had been shaved a few times before without removing the mustache. He was unable to talk and maybe not empathise what anybody was proverb to him so he and nobody in the family unit e'er gave permission to the staff to remove his mustache. He passed abroad on 10/27/13 then we had a few people asking almost his missing mustache at his viewing. The staff showed a complete lack of respect for him and his family. When nosotros complained to the Nursing Supervisor she said "well we take to shave them" which was a complete bogus response on her part taking no responsibility for the staff she is responsible for.

I visited this facility
I visited Nhc Healthcare Maryland Heights when we looked for a place for my female parent. It was number 2 on our list but nosotros were on the wait listing. The staff seemed very friendly and accessible. The facility appeared very clean and open. I liked that they had an outdoor garden surface area and a couple of paths. They as well had a sheep, a pony and a couple of chickens which the residents could feed.

Very well ran facility from top to bottom. The administrator is but as involved as the CNA's. Wonderful temper for the residents, smiles everywhere. Nursing was responsive and treated my relative with nobility and respect. Nursing administration takes an agile part in all of the residents intendance. Very make clean and well maintained facility.

Very clean and the care is not bad! My family member was hither for rehab and felt similar she was at home. The staff is then kind and the therapist actually took their time to attend to her needs.

Excellent facility. In that location are many activities planned for the residents, far outside the realm of Bingo. They have regular ice cream socials, trips to baseball games in the summers, and other excursions planned for the residents. My grandmother states that the foods wholesome, and nutritious, and does non sense of taste like institutionalized food. The facility's medical manager subscribes to the Eden alternative philosophy, and so in that location are many animals throughout the facility - birds and rabbits indoors, and a goat in the courtyard. Quality of care is above average, nursing staff and administration Re very friendly and get to know the residents well. But complaint is that information technology can exist hard to reach some of the staff at times.
